YeungJin College (President Jang Young-chul) opened a training program to send its students to partner companies overseas and have them experience local corporate culture and learn professional techniques.
The college sent 86 students with excellent academic records to Japan and China, and conducted trainings for 5 sectors including imbedded, 3D automobile design, and IT project. It invested 130 mil KRW in the 5-day or 1-month program.
On Feb 4th, 21 trainees for automobile design took 3-week program through which they learnt 3D CAD design for automobile parts from local engineers at Asia Solution in Fukuoka, Japan. They plan to upload video clips of their project results on U-Tube.
Another 32 trainees took 5-day Imbedded training at Hasama in Tokyo last month, and were put into an on-the-job training for ITRON, imbedded software.

OAK BROOK, Ill. February 18, 2008 A study from the Jichi Medical University in Japan shows that optimal band imaging used with an endoscope provided images that clearly identified depressed-type early gastric cancer without magnification in 96 percent of study participants. The study appears in the February issue of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Gastric cancer is one of the most prevalent types of cancer in the world. If gastric cancer is found early, the five-year survival rate increases nearly 90 percent. In contrast, most patients with advanced gastric cancer have a poor prognosis. Gastric cancer is classified as elevated, flat and depressed types. Despite improvements in endoscopic technologies, depressed-type early gastric cancer is challenging to diagnose because it manifests as subtle changes in color and shape.
New call at accident blackspot
POOR driving and heavy traffic have been blamed for the high number of crashes at an accident blackspot in west Wiltshire. Two people have been killed and several others injured over the past year on the A36 at Blackdog Hill near Chapmanslade, Warminster. The latest crash was on Friday morning when a Toyota car towing a trailer overturned. Just a week before, two people were seriously injured in a three-car pile-up. .
Clinton ahead of Obama, McCain in power rankings
Hillary Clinton wields more power than her two US Senate colleagues running for president, according to a new ranking. The New York senator ranks ninth, one spot ahead of likely Republican nominee John McCain and two spots higher than Democratic rival Barack Obama, according to the website Congress.org. Both Clinton and Obama, however, rank behind their state's other senator. Richard Durbin of Illinois is third, and Charles Schumer of New York is fourth. Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, the 2004 Democratic nominee, ranks 12th, while the Bay State's senior senator, Edward M. Kennedy ranks second, just behind Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada. .

Judge delays trial of students accused of transporting explosives
The trial of two Egyptian college students charged with transporting explosive materials has been delayed. The case was scheduled to begin next week in Tampa but a judge said Wednesday that attorneys should be ready to begin on April 28. The trial is expected to last up to two weeks. Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed (AKH'-med ab-dell-ah-TEEF' sheh-REEF' moh-HAH'-med) and Youssef Samir Megahed (you-SEF' sah-MEER' meh-GAH'-head) remain in a Tampa jail. The pair were arrested last year near Charleston, S.C., during a traffic stop when authorities found loosely packed explosive material in the trunk of their car. Mohamed also faces an additional terrorism-related charge for allegedly making a video demonstrating how to convert a remote-control toy into a bomb.
Head Strong: Peer-to-peer sex education draws fire
Department of Health and Senior Services, along with HiTOPS Inc. (Health-Interested Teens Own Program on Sexuality) and the Princeton Center for Leadership Training. It's an elective program for juniors and seniors who, with their teachers, conduct a total of five to six "outreach sessions" for freshmen during the school year. The students present skits and run activities, all under the close supervision of their teachers. The topics for this year go beyond abstinence and birth control methods to sexual harassment, alcohol/drugs and their influence on sexual decision making, dating violence, and talking with parents. The summit will have lasting influence because the women will get behind the issues and mobilize their communities, therefore leveraging their influence as they push for change, she said.
